Multiple computer controlled still camera system for visual effects.
MULTICAM is a still camera array which permits the creation of a variety of visual effects including, but certainly not limited to, freezing time.
Offering Digital or Film based cameras.
MULTICAM’s 150 computer controlled cameras are fired all at once, or in any linear or non-linear sequence, to capture a subject from multiple points of view. The corresponding frames are then gathered, one from each camera and assembled into motion footage. In the simplest case all of the cameras are fired simultaneously and the result is a dolly move through a frozen world, the dolly direction and speed being determined by the path and spacing of the cameras respectively.
Reel EFX has been working with still camera arrays since 1996. MULTICAM is the result of those years of work. MULTICAM is an entire system that has been carefully designed not only to address the technical problems of still camera arrays, but to create a system which is quick, affordable and easy to use. Reel EFX has also developed the expertise and software necessary to provide the specialized post production necessary for still camera arrays at a reasonable cost.
